After being in storage, the printer prints ok for the first page then starts skipping and fads heads have been cleaned and aligned.

This sounds exactly like my problem. But I am using a 6500 wireless printer. The printer has been in storage for 5 months. The cartridges were removed and placed in my refrigerator. Upon reinstalling the cartridges the printer seemed to print; but there was no ink on the paper. I cleaned the print heads several times. The level of the color cartridges went down significantly; but the black cartridge did not. I replaced the black cartridge with a newly purchased one. The problem persists. Test pages show all the color but no black.
