HP Photosmart C4795 ink carriage makes knocking noise when it moves

When the ink carriage is all the way to the right it makes a loud knocking noise.  It almost looks like the black tray that is under there is trying to move but it will not allow it to (stuck to the back).  I am able to slide the ink carriage all the way to the right and to the left manually with not problems, it only happens when you turn the computer on or open the ink door.  The printer does still work and prints fine it just makes this awful knocking sound when you turn it on and it moves to the right.  How can I fix that???
