HP Photosmart printer #c410a continues to tell me that I have non-compatible ink cartridges

My HP Photosmart printer #c410a continues to tell me that I have non-compatible ink cartridges when I have the correct number cartridge loaded.  I purchased five sets of new set-up cartridges (564) from an on-line daily deals site.  They are new cartridges, never opened and are exactly the same as the original set-up cartridges, but the printer will not accept them.  I know these cartridges will not have a lot of ink in them but since I have so many of them, I would like to use them.  I am sure there is a code that I can enter in to over-ride this error, but HP customer support just could not understand my problem.  They actually sent me a new printhead, but, of course, that did not help.  Has anyone had this problem.  If so, what did you do to solve it - other than buying new HP cartridges without the set-up label?  Thanks.

Re: HP Photosmart printer #c410a continues to tell me that I have non-compatible ink cartridges

I have the same problem, with new cartridges purchased from hp that are not setup cartridges.

I even have the problem with large capacity 564XL cartridges.

I have not been able to resolve in over a year.

I wonder if there is  a printer firmware update. Mine is at VAx2FN1121AR

Re: HP Photosmart printer #c410a continues to tell me that I have non-compatible ink cartridges

I understand that there is question on the set up cartridges and a cartridge rejection error appearing on a C410a Photosmart printer.

@DEagle80 -  Once a printer has finished the initialization process it can and will no longer accept set up cartridges. There is not an override that is available to make the printer function with these cartridges. Set up cartridges are expressly made for printer initialization and to make sure that the estimated ink level gauge is properly calibrated.

@ drvelocity - If you have the c410a Photosmart printer, have you looked at this document here? It addresses the ink cartridges rejection error of "Incompatible Print Cartridge"  in that model of printer and it will provide troubleshooting steps for on to take in an attempt to correct that issue. I hope that this helps.
