My printer was calling for Black and Cyan colours, I changed both in the usual manner. when I places the black in the "genuine HP ink message came up but I didn't notice the same when I replaced the cyan. Next I tried to print my work and the message came through saying that I needed to change both the black and cyan. I even cleaned the it and all of the colours came through beautifully but it still won't print properly anything from the computer.
I decided to try scanning amazingly anything I scan comes through ok.
I really need to speak with someone more knowledgeable than I am. Thank you heaps.

Did you try power cycle the printer? The situation you are describing sounds like somehow the computer lost connection to the printer, so it didn't know you have new cartridges.
I am an HP employee.
