How do I clean printhead on c309

All of a sudden my black will not print.  I cannot locate information on cleaning the print head

Hi,

Follow the steps below to clean the printhead:

• Press the Setup button ( ) on the product control panel.
• Press the down arrow button ( ) to select Tools , and then press the OK button.
• Press the down arrow button ( ) to select Clean Printhead , and then press the OK button

I have an error message of

ink System Failure

I've tried turning it on/off, cleaning the printheads manually, neither of which worked.

I can't get the 'setup' button to work so I can't try your suggestion.

Do i need to replace the printhead? I've searched for a replacement part and found one on ebay but not on the hp website. Do they exist anymore and would replacing it fix it?

Thanks for the info on cleaning my print head.  I do not think that is the problem.  All of the other colors print except for the black.  Any ideas?
