How do I reset a C7280 so I can use UK HP02 cartridges in a printer bought in the US? I moved!

I use Macs. I bought a C7280 Photosmart All-In-One in Albuquerque in 2008. I moved to live in the UK in 2010 and brought the printer with me.

 

I soon discovered that an HP02 printer cartridge bought in the UK does not work, as it is categorised as a different region, like DVDs, so I have been asking friends to air mail me HP02 cartridges from the US for the last 18 months.

 

This is crazy! The darned printer is out of warranty so HP want to charge me to discover how to buy their ink to put into their printer. Outrageous! Somebody out there must know how I can reset the printer to make it think it was born in the UK! Help people! Please?

Contact HP Customer Care. The representative will be able to help you through the procedure for changing the regionalization for the printer.

Try contacting HP Phone Support and tell them you need a region reset. More details in the link below

Resolving a cartridge-related error message after moving to another country

If your printer or your cartridges are within warranty, HP will help you resolve this issue. Before you contact HP, make sure that you have the following items ready:

  • Your HP product
  • A full set of HP cartridges for your new country or region
  • A computer that is connected to your product

Step one: Identify compatible cartridges for your product

To purchase cartridges or check the cartridge compatibility for your product, go to HP Home & Home Office .

 

Step two: Contact HP support  : click  > Contact HP : At the Bottom right of the web page , there is a Map, Please click and select the region you are in to find details .
