Hi, I have an HP Pavillion 9300 Elite Z - PC & an HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One - B209a - Printer .
Both are connected to my Linksys WRT160 Wireless router. My PC has a wired connection. My printer has a wireless connection.
My PC's running Win 7 Home upgraded to Win7 Pro via WAU Home to Pro
.
My problem is this:
After just a few days ago, all my print jobs are printing in monochromatic red. When I power up the printer, there is an error stating that the installed printhead is incompatible. My printer will accept whatever print job I send and print it, only they're all monochromatic red. Even plain black text becomes some shade of red.
These are the details:
My family and I went to our Church to pose for our new Church Pictorial Directory. After the photo session, we bought various pose packages, etc. One of the packages we bought is one that has all the poses on a single CD. I figured this option would be very useful in the near future.
As a Christmas gift, I attempted to print a 5x7 pose from the CD. I first made a test print on Plain Paper even though the software (Photoshop Elements) was pre-set for Photo Paper. The test was OK, no red flags indicating any problem. So, I proceeded to load the costly Photo Paper and resubmitted the same print job. This time, though, even though the photo printed in its entirety, only the top 2 inches printed normal, the remaining 5 inches was in this monochromatic red.
Now I get this print head error on the LCD screen and all my printing is in monochromatic red.
Did I unknowingly cause this? If you can shed some light on this please do.
A similar incident happened to me a few more years back with a different PC and with a Canon printer...
I've followed the 'clean the print head' and 'reset the printer' procedures on HP's site. Still got the error, so I didn't bother with another print job.
< what's the deal here??? >

My guess would be your cyan ink is not properly printing, perhaps dues to a blocked vent. Try the troubleshooting steps here.
