Which ink is the HP OJ Pro 8500 designed for? Dye base or Pigment base, all 4 colors or a mixture?

I'm confused! The specs for the OJ Pro 8500 - 909g state as follows:
- Black print resolution : Up to 1200 dpi with pigmented black ink
- Color print resolution : HP enhanced photo quality with Vivera inks
Arn't Vivera Inks Dye based? And if so, I am assuming that the Black HP #940 cartridges have pigmented ink and the Color #940 cartridges have Dye based ink. Is this true or do all #940 cartridges contain the same ink type? .
I guess my primary question is "Can we use dye based ink for all colors including black on the OJ Pro 8500?
