We have a Deskjet 6980. The colour cartridge (344) was starting to run out so I replaced it with a new cartridge. When we tried to print, it only printed out in black (no Cartridge Empty lights were flashing). I tried a 2nd & 3rd cartridge we had, but with the same result of black print only. We ordered a new cartridge from out suppliers in case the ones we had were faulty. When I inserted this new one, the colour Cartridge Empty light started flashing, meaning I couldn't print anything - so I replaced it with the original one again & the light went out, and I was able to print again, albeit with a poor colour quality due to it running out. I then printed off a diagnostics page, the old cartridge first which was ok & then the second, brand new cartridge, which came out like this:
I can't understand why the old cartridge still works, but all new cartridges are either being 'seen' to be empty or not working properly (only printing in black).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
