Not printing black on my 6500

I have brand new ink cartriges, they are about 2 months old. About a week ago my printer decided to stop printing anything with black ink. the colored ink prints just fine. All the ink levels shows full, the cartridges feel full but it wont print anything in black. I've tried multiple cleanings, and alignments. The cleanings always turn out fine and the black prints out on the page that comes out when you run the printhead cleaning. But when I do the alignment it goes all the way through then fails. The paper that prints out from the alignment doesnt print any black ink. Ive tried following the instrucitions on the post listed on this forum for "failed alignment" but that didn't solve the problem. This is beyond frustrating. Any help is appreciated. I google the problem and it seems to be pretty common but without an answer for HP's.

Re: Not printing black on my 6500

I cleaned the printhead by wiping with a lint free cloth like HP suggests and went through all the steps again to no avail. So instead I followed the one solution posted online. I ran the whole printhead under running water. Crazy I know but I figured what did I have to lose at this point? Many peoplle said it worked. Well I did it, I blew dry it with the hair dryer and shut it off. used it this morning and voila it works. 2 hours trying to fix it using the tools on the printer and nothing then this crazy idea works. Go figure.
