During initial installation and setup of new OfficeJet 7000 printer, I encountered a problem -- specifically, the printhead carriage will not move from the right-most position to allow printhead and ink cartridge installation. I can detect no shipping tape or other material that may be preventing correct positioning. On power-up, the printer cycles though its checks and the printhead carriage tries to move but, after a few snap, crackle an pops, remains in the right-most position and both the Power button light and the Resume button light flash. What can be done to solve the problem?

Sorry that you all are experiencing a problem with your carriage jamming. Sometimes it has small pieces of paper stuck on the opposite side of the carriage that blocks it from coming to the middle.
Here is a link that may assist with this issue.
