Officejet 6500 not printing cyan after changing cartridge

Hi! My 6500 all in one is no longer printing the cyan cartridge. I changed the ink cartridges last week and ever since then, the cyan will not work. I thought I might have a bad cartridge, but when I reinstalled the old cyan, it still didn't print. On the test page it has the place for the cyan with the cartridge expiration date so I am assuming that it is reading the cartridge, but the little box that should be full of blue ink is empty.

I have cleaned the cartridges, and the printer head as instructed by HP manual, but nothing is working. I've already used 1/4 of my other cartridges just in printing out test pages to see if cyan is working... any suggestions?

Hi there

I changed my black cartridge yesterday and am having this problem.

The ink pad is ok to the touch, and I can hear ink in the cartridge, but when I print or copy, page is blank.

If I opt for colour print, other colours print ok. leaving blank all black type.

Did you get sorted with cyan cartridge?  If so How?  Thanks

I have tried cleaning the printhead several times... Have not been able to rectify the situation, still not printing cyan...

Hi, have you checked the cartridge is vented properly?

If the cartridge has a clogged vent, try cleaning the vent with a pin.

I just checked the cartridge vent and it looks fine, no adhesive blockage. Also, I've tried replacing my new cyan cartridge with the old one to see if it was a cartridge issue, but then the old cyan cartridge wouldn't work either so I don't think it is related to the new cartridge. It is very frustrating because the printer was working fine until the cartridges were replaced (about 2 weeks ago) and since then, the cyan has stopped working...

So, I just finished soaking the printhead which was really hard to get dry... Now both the cyan and the yellow are not working.

Hi there

My theory was that since machine and other cartridges were working OK, then issue must be with black cartridge.  I figured that if I replaced it with another new cartridge and that didn't work, then blame would rest firmly on the machine itself.

I have just installed the second new cartridge and printer is working perfectly!!!  So looks like problem was a dodgy cartridge.  Hope this works for you.
