Power button blinks after cartridge realignment

I replaced one of the cartridges that was low, then printed out a page to realign the cartridges. Then I got a message to put the page on the platen to print, but nothing happens except that the power button is flashing.  The message read that it was aligning the cartridge but nothing happened.  I tried unplugging and replugging the machine. I clicked on "cancel" and the message reads "Cancelling alignment" but nothing happens. If I click "ok" the message says busy.  The power button is still flashing.  VERY frustrating!

If you just unplug the power cable, does the printer come back to life after plug back in?

When I unplug it, I get a message to align page by putting plain white paper on the plate and press ok.  I've done this several times. It prints the page but then it get stuck when I click OK and the light starts to blink.  It says "aligning cartridges, please wait." Nothing happens.  If I press cancel, it says "cancelling alignment."  But nothing happens.

Finally figured it out on my own.  I held down the setup and OK key at once and it stopped blinking.
