Print head clog

I have a K5400 printer and I am running Windows 7.  The Magenta print head clogs.  I clean it and by the next day it is clogged again.  I have replaced the ink cartridge once and the printhead twice.  Official HP products all around.  It prints just fine but cleaning the printhead daily is expensive and tedious.

Re: Print head clog

Two things:  Do not buy new print heads most of the time they can be cleaned and save big bucks.  It is possible that there is excessive ink where the heads park where they are cleaned by your printer.  You will need to find that location(s) and use windex with qtips or paper towels to get out all the wet and dried up ink you can.   As far as head cleaning goes, swirl the the jets in a shallow dish with warm distilled water the gently touch the head to folded thickly paper towel.  If you have complete ink colored lines it should then be clean.  If that does not work try windex in the water.  I recently purchased an utrasonic cleaner, that and distilled water just cleaned print heads that I coud not get clean,  The heads for my 8500 are $49.00 each x2.  I bought a decent macine for $80.00.  Paid for itself already and cleaned my wifes rings.  No more trips to the jewler where she sees more diamonds she wants!  :-)  I have another set of heads to clean for spares, you do the math.  Good luck
