I recently bought some new ink cartridges, the correct cartridges, and the printer says that are not the right ones. This is completely wrong because they are literally the exact same cartridges that the printer itself came with in the original package. How do I tell the printer to shut the hell up and accept them?

HP Photosmart C4500 All-in-one. Using New HP74XL cartridge. this same cartridge works on my daughter's C4480 series printer. I have cleaned the cartridge heads and the printer head contacts.
The new cartridge that I installed worked for one day. Yesterday the error message showed up and has remained. Is there a way to by pass this message and resume printing?

I'm having the exact same problem. I purchased a refurbished black cartridge and the printer wouldn't recognize the cartridge, but it did recognize a refurbished color cartridge. so i went and bought an official hp black cartridge and i'm getting the exact same problem as before. am i missing something or what?
