The only contacts that would be able to be cleaned on the printhead of a 5514 Photosmart are the contacts that connect with the cartridges.
* Remove all cartridges
* Obtain clean lint free cloth and clean water
* Wipe the copper contacts on the cartridges and the matching ones in the printhead
* Wipe these contacts dry
The printhead itself is unremovable from this model unit, thus one would not be able to clean the contacts that connect the printhead to the printer. Hope this helps.

If you are still in warranty, HP may replace the printer at no cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link will take you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it out and it is processed, it will give you the printers warranty information, a case number, and the phone number to call.
