I ran out of ink so I changed my cartridges and now my printer keeps sayin there is a problem with the black cartridge. Any ideas wat wrong??

If printer shows defect with black cartridge, then you may first try to replace it with genuine HP ink cartridge.

 

If a genuine HP ink cart. is found defective, then you may claim warranty replacement for the same.

I bought the hp ink cartridge and took out the other oneand it continues to say there is a problem.

I feel that the the ink cartridge needs further testing and validation.  You may contact the reseller or nearest HP service centre to obtain warranty support.
