Printing blank pages - old ink cartridges ?

I have an HP 1510 PSC. It is a great printer, and is one of two HP printers that I have. The situation I am experiencing is that I haven't used this print in like two years. I wanted to use it tonight, but the pages come out blank.
I ran the "clean cartridge heads." Still blank pages.
I removed the cartridges and manually cleaned the cartridges.
My operating system is Windows 7 -- but this is not the problem, everything is working fine.
No error messages -- printer says there is ink in the cartridge.
Could this be because the printer has sat so long that the cartridge print head is clogged? Should I just get new cartridges?
Please help me. Looking forward to a response.
Thanks.......

Hi,
Have you printed a test page after head cleaning ? You may have to run few times and the last option is to buy new ink cartridges.
Good luck.

It is very possible that the cartridges have dried out after sitting in the printer for two years. You may be able to recover the cartridge by trunning up to three celaning cycles from the toolbox. If this does not resolve the issue you could try soaking the cartridge with the nozzles submerged in about 1" of very hot water for about 10 minutes. After the soak gently dry the electrical contacts and then put the cartridge back in the printer and try up to three cleaning cycles.
