c310a black ink

Hi All

I am new here. Got a c310a. Standalone black ink is full, smaller black is empty all other cartridges half full.

I am going to get some new cartridges, but need to rpint some documents mainly in black. However no black print. Anyone help?

Do you mean photo black for standalone black ink? If so, then this photo cartridge is mainly used for photo printing. So the smaller black that you may be referring to is the standard 564 ink. This is primarily used for text printing so if that's empty, you'll need to replace that to resume the b&w printing.

If you're planning to buy, you can check the part numbers: HP 564 Black - CB316W, HP 564 XL Black - CB321W.

Hi Thanks for the reply.

I solved the problem by replacing the main black cartridge. I have therefore a black 364XL that is supposedly half full but does not work.

I think I saw on the forum that I can resurrrect this by standing in hot water. I will try.

The empty is the small photo black cartridge. The other colours are not empty. I assume then I will need to replace the full set before I can print photos?
