in Win 7 how to Check Ink Levels on HP PSC 2210 All-In-One?

With Win 7 drivers (and not HP's), what is the way of checking the the ink levels in a PSC 2210?

Thanks!

Hi, are you able to get the estimated ink level from the Toolbox?

  1. In the HP Director software, click Settings , click Print Settings , and then click Printer Toolbox .
  2. In the Printer Toolbox, select the Estimate of Ink Level tab.

Thanks for response.

Your solution would work in Win XP, but NOT in Win 7.  Win 7 has it's own print drivers that don't allow some of the HP software to be installed.   No offense, but I am surprised that you don't know this being an associate prof and a HP employee (or stakeholder).  :-)

No worries, didn't know that wouldn't work for Win7.

:smileyhappy:

Try this....

  • Windows 7: Click the Windows icon ( ), click All Programs , click the HP Folder , and then click HP Solution Center .

Thanks for your response.

There are no HP printer drivers allowed in Win 7!

Win 7 has it's own printer drivers. Hence, there is no HP folder!

Wake up!  It's Win 7 time....:-))

What you recomended is good to know for other issues-thanks!

But it doesn't address the issue of my fundamental question:

With Win 7, how to Check Ink Levels on HP PSC 2210 All-In-One?

"Introduction

The drivers for your HP product are already included in the new Windows 7 operating system! You do not need to download drivers to use the product . Simply connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable, and Windows Update automatically installs the driver for your product."
