ink cartridges

I have an OfficeJet Pro 8500A.  The operating system is Windows X.  I just changed all the ink cartridges.  When I try to print, the printer keeps telling me I need to change the ink cartridges.  How can I solve the problem?  Thanks.

Re: ink cartridges

Can you tell me the exact message you saw? Was it a Low Ink or Ink Alert message? Or an Cartridge Problem message? Does the message refer to one cartridge, or all of them? I can try to help, but I need to know what message you saw.

Re: ink cartridges

The original message said I was out of black ink and to replace the cartridge.  I did.  Then the message said that the other cartridges needed replacing too.  I replaced all of those.  When I went to print, a message said to replace the "K" cartridge.  I have put the old cartridge in and it is now printing.

I'm checking with product engineering to see if they have any thoughts here - I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Re: ink cartridges

Sorry for the delay. The support folks I talked to are not sure how to fix this - they suggested that you call an HP contact center. Even if your printer is out of warranty, you should be able to get support if the cartridges are in warranty (you can check the Warranty Ends date printed on the cartridge).

If you are in the US, call 1 800 HP INVENT. If you aren't in the US, go to HP.com/support, select your country, and then look for the Contact HP link at the bottom of the page. Sorry I couldn't help you with this - good luck!
