Officejet AIO 6500 e709a
I installed new black cartridge. I made a few photocopies and had no problem. Today I cannot print black at all. It prints color only. I did all the troubleshooting--clean printhead, align, print test page, etc.--still no black. I went to Office Depot and got replacement black cartridge. Still cannot print black. I used the "clean printhead" from the printer itself's tools, and still no black. The replacement plan I bought at Office Depot is a joke! They will only give me purchase price. New printer like min (only one year old but was a closeout) will cost me twice the amount they will return! I would rather "fix" this one. Any ideas?

WELL I am RELIEVED! The reset worked great and I am now printing in black! I agree with the person who said that this process certainly benefits HP--I used a lot of ink! (you know, that liquid GOLD!)
Anyway, I am pleased and appreciate all who posted helpful advice/comments.
Now, how do I mark this "solved?"

I replaced both printer heads to no avail. Now i ran out of black ink and have to buy a new cartridge. Should I just remove the printer from the PC and re install it?

Unplugging the printer for 30 seconds while it was on did reset the printer and fixed the problem. Thank you very much. I've spent way too much time trying to fix this problem. I really appreciate the help.
