Everyone knows this printer has ink issues, but I think part of it is that it will clean the print heads at least 1-2 times a day without my asking it to and that of course takes ink. I've looked at every setting I can find that that might make that happen, like a scheduled clean or something and I can't find a thing. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

Does the printer say it is cleaning the print head or is it going through the cleaning process with a normal home screen?
Is the printer being turned off while not in use?

It doesn't say it - the only way I know it's doing it is by the clunking and noise it makes. I guess it could be doing something else, but it sounds the way it does when it's cleaning the printheads. It usually does in in the morning on one of the first couple of times I print something during the day, and then at other completely random times. This printer is at my work desk and I leave it on all the time. Thanks!!!

It is possible that it is going through other maintenance tasks rather than actually cleaning the printhead. The printer should also display cleaning printhead when it is actually doing that task. The printer may perform maintenance tasks before printing if it has been idle for sometime before printing to yield the best result.
I suspect it is performing other maintenance tasks since it is not displaying the message on the printer screen.
