Re: photosmart C7280 /Ink system failure will not print

This is also my 3rd hp, after all my previous problems with them I bought this one, WHY?  I've been on my knees plugging and unplugging, inserting and "unserting" inks, I'm just sick of it, I'm never buying another hp no matter how good they seem. Thanks but no thanks.

I keep getting "ink system failure" after using the procedure posted for the message.

After following the procedure and restarting my device I can usually print a page or two, then the message comes back.

My printer (c7280 All in one) does not have a renovable print head. What can I do? Thanks for your help.

Re: photosmart C7280 /Ink system failure will not print

I just used the steps below: press both the # and * buttons.  The screen should say something like "enter special sequence".  At this time press 1 then 2 then 3 which will bring up a support menu.  Use the < and > arrow buttons to move through the menu which said "Partial reset" and "Semi- full Reset".   This seems to have done the trick.  I ended up redoing the steps Partial reset maybe 3 times and Semi-full Reset about 3 times.  Plus I also selected the Hardware failure status about 2 times.  The last time I selected the Semi-full Reset the printer came back online but kept running through the load photo paper and I already had photo paper in the tray as well as 8.5X11 Sheets in its tray.  So ended taking both stacks of paper out of their tray and put them back in the tray.  Then turned to power off then back on again.  The printer finally came back online with the Welcome to Photosmart Express message on the mini display.  Thanks for the post.  This did the trick woohooo I don't have to go out and buy another printer.
