In the future please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen?

Hi muggs
Are you seeing a particular 0x code after the words Ink System Failure? Have you tried resetting the printer?
Thanks
Ciara

I'm still having the problem with the ink system failure.
Is there some thing else I can try?
Thank you

I am also having the same sort of problem with my Photosmart C7280 All-in-One printer. Windows operating system. USB connected. Error message 0xc18a0101. I've already followed the steps on the HP troubleshooter (reset printer etc.). Product is out of warranty. The next suggested step is to have the unit serviced, but I can't wait that long.

I have been having the same problem - 4 times now. Turn off with power button and back on and get a message that printer was shut down improperly. However, the printer worked OK for a few days. The another failure. So far, it's just an inconvenience since it starts working again - but who knows for how long.
MacOS 10.6.8; USB connection, printer is 2 1/2 years old.

Bob -
I posted to the original message but got no reply. Hopefully, this direct reply to your post will get to you. I also note that you are a Windows expert; however, it seems that the problem is with the printer, not the OS. Hopefully, you can help.
I have now had seven failures with the message ink system failure. My error code is: 0xc190035. I have tried the total reset twice. In between, I have just turned thte printer off and then back on, and the printer then worked for a day or so. Lately, it will work to print one or two jobs - then with a several hour delay between jobs, another error message. (I also get the improper shutdown message even though I turn the printer off, then on with the power button.) I did notice one solution for system failures posted on the HP website was to remove the print head; however, that doesn't seem possible for the C7280. Is there any othter choice short of turning the printer in for service. I honestly haven't checked on prices; however, it seems that with the low price of printers, coupled with the high price of ink, it often is cheaper to buy a new printer rather than have one that is 1 or 2 years old fixed.
Mac OS 10.6.8, USB connection
