printer says cartridges for older generation of printer-now what to do?

I have the hp printer cartridges that are to be used with hp 5510 but the device says cartridges for older generation of printer, What do I do now, it won't work.

Same problem here, I replaced it with an original HP 564 black cartridge and get the message: Cartridge for older generation of printer. I won't work at all right now. It's the first replacement after the standard setup cartridge when I bought it it new.

 

Any thoughts?

If you get the message "Incompatible Older Generation Cartridge Installed" message I would suggest that you contact HP Phone support. More details in the link below

did you sort the issue out witht the older generation ink ?? i just bought the printer and  went to change the yellow with an hp one and says the same for older generation printer.. if you solved please txt me[Personal Information Removed] n steve..

You need to phone HP Support and tell them you got this message. You'll also need to check the warranty ends date on the cartridge. See links below for details
