"Compatible" Black and Tri-Color 60XL cartridges from HP on-line still not being accepted by D110a!

1.  Product Name and Number:  HP Photosmart e-All-in-One D110a printer.

2.  Operating System installed (if applicable):  Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.

3.  Error message (if any):   "Incompatible print cartridge(s)."

4.  Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred:  I've literally been "through the wringer" on this printer trying to get all features to work.

Finally, after dozens of hours of troubleshooting, reconfiguring, and updating, the D110a is running smoothly, except it will accept HP 60 ink cartridges but still will not accept the HP 60XL cartridges that I bought from HP on-line last year; the HP website where I bought the cartridges listed the 60 and 60XL ink cartridges as the only compatible ones available.

Any advice on how to force the D110a to accept the 60XL cartridges?

Any advice on how to proceed to either get my money back or get HP to send me 60XL replacement cartridges that are compatible?

I feel ripped-off...and I don't feel that HP will stand behind their product.

NOTE:  The Mississsippi Code does not allow any time limitation imposed by HP for products with latent defects or sold through fraudulent (whether intended or not) misrepresentation as I believe is the case here.

Thanks for your comments!

Hi

Have you tried the usual troubleshooting, such as cleaning the cartridge contacts? (in case there is any debris preventing a good connection with the printer)

Doc c02093281

Have you contacted HP phone support?

Thanks, Ciara

Thank you, Ciara.  The cartridges were incompatible right out of the box, literally.  I was so involved in trying to get the D110a up and running that the 21-day return window expired before I knew it.

Hi HectoRocker4

The cartridges are warranted from 2yrs from the date of manufacture. I would suggest that you contact HP phone support as you may be entitled to replacements.

Hope this helps, please let me know how you get on

Thanks, Ciara

Ciara, that was good advice—thanks so much!  Also, it reminded me that the ever-troublesome Photosmart D110a still has more than 7 weeks left on its 1-year warranty.
