Hey. I'm facing problem with my HP photosmart C6100. I'm trying to scan using my all in one but my windows keep showing me that error. Its really annoying and I am not able to sort it out. Kindly help.

Well the cable wasn't the problem. There are some system processes in Windows 7 that were disabled. I enabled them and it seemed to work again as if nothing ever happend. Thanks for the reply though

Well I had this problem about 6 or so months ago. I enabled some processes that is usually run by windows at start up. Processes that are required by the printer/scanner like spooler.exe and so on. You'll have to re-enable these basic printer processes and it shall work flawlessly again. A google search might reveal what all processes you have to enable for a printer to work properly on windows 7. If you fail to obtain the right information from google, let me know I'll try to jot down the list of processes you have to enable.
