HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

PLEASE HELP ME TODAY IF POSSIB LE!!!

I just purchased this printer yesterday and I'm trying to set it up wirelessly so I can do the HP Instant Ink Program.

Web Access Test Results: 02/25/15

"Attention: This printer is currently configured with a Domain Name System (DNS) server address which does not allow the DNS server name to be confirmed. On most networks, this can prevent the printer from accessing Web pages over the Internet."

"Solution: To resolve this problem, try the following:

1. Disconnect the power cord from your router, wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord.

2. Turn your HP printer off, and then turn it back on again.

3. When the printer finishes starting up and the Home screen appears, wait at least 60 seconds, and then print this report again."

So I did this process twice with the same results!

Ok, so how do I get the DNS server name to be confirmed??

Under "Current Configuration" section on same report, it says:

 Web Services: Enabled

DNS Setting:    Auto

Proxy Server Address: Not Specified

Proxy Server Port:        Not Specified

Proxy Server Authentication: Off

I initially set up the printer using a USB cord, should I uninstall printer and software  and then re-install again using the 'WIRELESS' option?

Hello @bevspets ,

Welcome to the HP forums.

I understand that you are having a DNS issue with your 6830.

I would like to help.

I would set a manual DNS.

To set a manual DNS, swipe the printers display from right to left.

Touch setup then go into the network setup option.

Select wireless settings.

Scroll to the bottom of the list and select advanced setup.

You will see an option labelled IP settings automatic.

Select this.

You will see a warning about changing the IP address, touch OK.

Change automatic to manual.

Scroll to the bottom of the list and select DNS.

From here I would try Googles DNS

008.008.008.008

Touch done.

You will be brought back a screen, select apply.

You will notice the blue wireless light start to blink.

When it stops blinking try to enable the web services again.

It does not hurt to turn teh printer off then back on before trying to enable the web services.

Also you could call the Cloud Services department.

They will be able to assist you with the DNS and help with any other 'hiccups' that happened during the instant ink enrollment.

Please call our Cloud Services at 855-785-2777.Option #2 for instant ink.

Hi - I have the same problem with an HP ENVY 5640 but the solution you suggest doesn't work with this printer (you can't swipe the screen and the options you describe thereafter are nowhere to be found)

Any help gratefully recevied.  Thanks.
