Dear Sir/Madame,

My network printer is a Deskjet F4580. Because of a wrong network configuation performed via the embedded webserver interface, the printer is no longer reachable! I would like to know how to reset it to default factory settings so that the webserver is again accessible via the default address!

Thank you.

Try this:  press and hold down the Cancel button then press and release the wireless button.

This should restore the printer's network configuration to its default state.

Strange this did not work for me.

I would like to see some 'in-house' support on this HP!

The HP user guide for product 'Deskjet f4580' is not well thought out. Bad.

Where is the official info on how to restore/reset to factory conditions - because it was not in the manuals or userguides

or technical guides. sheeesh.  A reset of a product should have a FAQ listing.

I have same problem for such a long time I forgot about it. Tried everything, including online suport. I just can't reset the printer.

To connect the HP All-in-One to an integrated wireless WLAN 802.11 network, you will
need the following:
❑ A wireless 802.11 network that includes a wireless router or access point.
If you connect the HP All-in-One on a wireless network that has Internet access, HP
recommends that you use a wireless router (access point or base station) that uses
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
❑ A desktop computer or laptop with either wireless networking support, or a network
interface card (NIC). The computer must be connected to the wireless network that
you intend to install the HP All-in-One on.
❑ Network name (SSID).
❑ WEP key or WPA Passphrase (if needed).
To connect the product
1. Insert the product Software CD in the computer CD-ROM drive.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
When you are prompted, connect the product to the computer using the USB setup
cable included in the box. The product will attempt to connect to the network. If the
connection fails, follow the prompts to correct the problem, and then try again.
3. When the setup is finished, you will be prompted to disconnect the USB cable and
test the wireless network connection. Once the product connects successfully to the
network, install the software on each computer that will use the product over the
network.

printer.jpgMaybe this will be a bit more clear. The problem is that we can't access the web interface no more and we need to change this password:

I need to reset the network config, or do a full factory reset, on a F4580. But the steps above from Wi-Fi guy don't appear to do anything.

Please can you advise exactly what order, how long to hold, and what order to release the buttons? Is this documented anywhere?

Is the full factory reset documented anywhere?

Also, why does press-hold the wireless button not simply do a new WPS setup?

My friend has a new router and I cannot set up this darn printer! Bad work, HP.

Thanks
