This drove me crazy for awhile.  Go into your printer settings.  You will find where to flip on short side or on long side.  I was set up in landscape in word, so set the printer to flip on short side and selected Apply.  Worked perectly after that.  I'm using a HP Envy 5660.  If more than one printer, be sure the printer you use is the exact same one that is showing in the print area of word.

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system?  Likely there should be an option in the Finishing tab or Advanced tab of the driver that will select "flip pages up" or "flip on long edge" or some similar, changing the option should change the orientation of the back side.

Windows 8.1, HP Officejet Pro 8620, Adobe Reader DC 2015

 

When trying to print a pdf in duplex or booklet form with landscape orientation it ALWAYS prints the backside upside-down (long-flipping). No matter how I adjust the flip (I've tried both ways), the backside is always upside-down. Drivers are uptodate. 

 

I also cannot print without these huge white margins/borders (~1.5in). The margin adjustment option is either greyed out or when I select borderless I get a "conflict warning" with letter size paper which is ridiculous because I know I have printed images that were almost entirely marginless. 

 

These options/issues are very basic and not complicated. This thread is how old? Seven years! This is extremely frustating and I've wasted a ton of paper and ink on a problem that HP doesn't seem to care enough about to fix. HP, if there is no fix for this I will definitely remember this when it comes time to buy my next personal printer. I should also tell my boss who just bought two new Officejet 8610s, I think he's better off returning them considering the time and money he'll end up wasting on a defective product.

This solution has saved me BUNDLES and HOURS of time.  Not sure why I dind't think of checking there before.  THANK-YOU SO MUCH!:smileyvery-happy:
