HP Deskjet 2540
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Can anyone expalin the erratic nature of the Deskjet 2540? Supposed to scan, won't scan on MAC! OK, lived with that long enough. But. Why does this printer have so much erratic trouble finding the only printer connected? Keeps telling me "printer not connected" and it is connected, just as it was the last time I used it. Yesterday! This happens sporatically and usually "fixes"(?) itself, afer a few minutes(?), after sending the job to print numerous times (maybe?). This morning, shows job in queue but says "looking for printer" then "printer not connected". Does anyone have input before this printer becomes just a splintered memory in the back yard?

Original poster, again. No need to reply, the printer has decided to print once again. No, I didn't do anything and can't explain it, as always.

Sorry for the rant, you should be glad you weren't here to hear what the printer heard.
