HP Deskjet 845c
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

HP Deskjet 845c printer will only print a blank page.

 

Condition of Printer and what I've tried: It was given to me by a neighbor to keep. Before that, I'm sure that it had been sitting up for a while. It was a little dusty. I cleaned the leads on the cartridges and the holding area leads with lint-free medical gauze and a little store bought bottled water(and dried them), but still nothing. The cartridges still have ink in them, because the warning light for ink is not lit. ONE OR TWO OF THE TINY COPPER REGIONS HAD A BLACK STREAK ON IT THAT WAS CLEANED OFF AND I COULD NOT TELL IF ANYTHING ELSE WAS WRONG JUST BY LOOKING. I've tried to print a test page. I've cleaned the  printer using the printer software. I went through the process of automatically adjusting the heads, but that did not solve anything. Again, it only prints a blank white page. The ink cartridges are the right ones, too, because they are clearly labeled inside the printer by the HP factory. THANKS ALOT IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE AND FOR TRYING TO HELP ME!

I understand that the printer is not printing anything, it is giving blank pages. 

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Have you checked if the cartridges are expired?

 

Please try the steps suggested in this HP Article

If the issue persists, please try new cartridges and check. 

For any service options for your printer, please contact our phone support for assistance. 

 

Please follow the procedure mentioned below to contact our phone support. 

  • Open link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/
  • Enter Product number or select to auto detects
  • Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
  • Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number.
