Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

HP Envy 7640 printer making excessive noise; the printing process is ok but

am concerned there is a problem which could result in serious malfunction.

Many thanks Prof - not being very adept at tackling things mechancial, I simply switched the printer off,

said a prayer, and switched it back on - so far no more grinding noises! However, will keep your excellent

notes on alternative solutions, just in case!

Ditto, I did not find any paper in my printer but running through all the suggestions did the trick. The awful loud grinding noise is gone. Many thanks!
