Photosmart 6510

Hi.

I have 2 printers one PS 6510 and one 6520.

My 6520 printer stopped working the other day, of course right after I bought new ink.

So I tried using the cartridges in my 6510, and it says that the cartridges is protectet and that I have to remove them.

How can i unlock them?

Because I should'nt have to toss them away and buy new ones when these are nearly new?

Looks like the 6520 has cartridge protection turned on.  This means that any cartridge installed in this printer is set for life to only work in that printer.  Those cartridges can never be used in any other printer.

You need to turn off Cartridge Protection by using EWS.   There is nothing you can do except put those cartridges back in the 6520.

Can I unlock them using the 6520?

Because I can try to get it semi-working for this purpose.

Sorry no.  Once locked they are locked forever to that one printer.
