Did this... It didn't work. Nothing changed. Just to be sure, I also tried selecting "High Quality Greyscale" and still nothing changed. When did this become an advanced option anyway? Some actual help please.

The Photosmart 5520e has a permanant printhead and some ink is required to keep the printhead from clogging. See the document here for information on how ink is used, the Photosmart 5520e is an "IIC" printer in the terminology of that page.

I have a mac computer and I can't seem to switch my photosmart 5520e to print in only black ink. The little dialogue box that everyone references with the "paper quality" is not an option on my operating system. I am running OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 and there is no little triangle or drop down for color option. All that appears is "Media & Quality" but there is no option to change for color. Nothing in system preferences either. HELP!
