Hello, trying to figure out why my printer isnt working. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the operating system, as the problem persists even when using the menu on the printer itself. When trying to print, or even copy/scan something, the prnter proceeds to say printing or copying on the menu, and even makes noises, but nothing is actually happening. Have tried updating the drivers, and unplugging the power from the device for a while (overnight). None of these steps helped. The FPU number is B9S76-6400. Operating system is Windows 10. I would be greatful for any suggestions, thank you.

Hello, @RobMac83 – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for joining the HP Support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.

Going through your post, I understand that you are having difficulty with your Officejet printer. Since the printer is not making a copy as well, the issue could be with the printer hardware. I would suggest performing a printer power drain and then to update the printer “firmware”. Here are the steps:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If the issue still persists, go to http://hp.care/2kIkUH0 to update the printer firmware and then restart the printer and check.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Good luck 🙂
