I can't accept that this is normal out of the box.  My officejet 4630 all in one printer prints about 1 page every 3 minutes!  I needed a 4 page document (all text) and this thing took about 5 minutes to print it!

Yet when i scan something with this printer, it prints it in record time.    I dont have my print settings on anything special. Everything is on either default or lower quality than that (which should spell SPEED considering that im not asking for any special high quality prints)  Yes it is on wireless but it's connected fine and no issues there (the router is in the same room) my last printer was also wireless (a wretched kodak ESP 7 of all printers!)  and that thing printed MUCH FASTER than this new machine. This cannot be normal and if it is then i've definitely lost faith in HP

Thanks

Tanya

Hi TanyaAD138

If you are still experiencing issues with your Officejet, in addition to JERENDSs recommendations, I suggest taking a look at what he has suggested in the following post; Missing or partial print issues on Windows 8 / 8.1.

I hope this helps.

Hello TanyaAD138,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

That is VERY unacceptable for the Officejet 4630 to print at that speed. I would suggest taking a look into this HP document: Slow Printing. When asked to print a self-test; arrow down to Tools then hit OK, arrow down to Self-Test then hit OK.

When I did the self-test on this printer, it took 15 seconds.

Cheers,

JERENDS

Hi TanyaAD138,

Some times an alignment can resolve slow printing issues. Please try the following steps;

  1. Load plain white paper in the paper tray.
  2. On the printer control panel, press the Down Arrow ( ) to select Tools , and then press OK .
  3. Press the Down Arrow to select Align Printer , and then press OK . The printer prints a test page, and then prompts you to scan the page.

Does this slow printing occur when you copy too, or just when printing from the computer over the wireless network?

I have the OfficeJet 4630 with slow printing problems as well.  When I print the Print Quality Report or Printer Status Report is completes the page in mere seconds.   My 4630 does NOT have a Self Test option under the Tools category.   Any other suggetions?
