WHEN I RUN OUT OF INK ORIGINAL SET UP CARTRIDGE   AND I ADD  NO. 564 XL CARTRIDGE BLACK   ON THE RIGHT HAND SLOT   IT DOES NOT PRINT FROM THE INK OF THE XL JUST PRINTS FROM THE OLD CARTRIDGE  AND VERY FAINT 

 

HOW DO I GET IT TO USE THE INK FROM THE XL CARTRIDGE  IN BLACK ON THE RIGHT

It may print from the Photo ink cartridge. Please try the following steps

 

(a) Double click printer icon on desktop,
(b) Click Set Preferences,
(c) Click Advanced,
(d) Select "Black Ink only" for Print in Grayscale
(e) Click Ok/Apply ...

Note: Printer still needs all color inks and it will consume a very small amount of inks during warmng up process.
