Hello,

Three weeks ago I bought a HP Envy 7640 all-in-one printer.

It worked fine until I hit a 'paper jam error'.

I have worked through the complete HP step by step manual (cleaned, checked, restarted it etc.) to fix this one, but nothing helps. I am sure it is clean and there is/was absolutely no paper left.

I tried thinner paper (80 grs.) instead of 90 grs. but it doesn't help.

It takes a minute or so and it gets stuck again on the 'paper jam error'.

Who can help me?

Hi @TesvanL,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see you're experiencing paper jams on your HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer. I will certainly do my best to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

You have done a great job troubleshooting in an effort to isolate the issue. Other than recommending you try the steps within the guide below, there is likely a hardware issue.

If the issue persists, I suggest contacting HP Phone Support.

Check Warranty Status: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/wc/public/home
Repair fees might apply for out-of-warranty printers.
What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck! 🙂

HP Customer Service promptly replaced my all-in-one device upon one phonecall.

So I take it that there must have been a hardware problem indeed. Most likely a sensor problem.

Good service! The new printer works well and let's hope it stays this way.

Regards
