Photosmart All-in-One 2710 WEP/WPA2 Security

Hi all,

I have a Photosmart All-in-One 2710 printer, but I cannot use it in my WPA2 secured network, since it only seems to accept WEP passphrase when I try to set it up. I am using Windows 7, and it also doesn't seem to support WEP, am I right?

What should I do? I really don't know, I have been looking for an answer to fix it, but I was not able to.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your printer supports WPA-PSK.  Using that with a very secure passphrase (of at least 13 characters using numbers and letters, upper and lower case) should be good.

If that does not work, remove any spaces from the passphrase.

I have moved to wpa2 internet security.  Since then cannot get my all in on 2710 printer to work in wireless mode.  Due you have a new driver for this printer or should I take the printer to thte scarp yard?

Have you reset your printer and tried to reconnect with your new WPA2-AES password?  What is the error message?  You can check for the newest drivers for this printer by searching the web or the HP web site.

Printer Hint #1 - Always buy a printer with a display panel for configuration.
Printer Hint #2 - Always buy a printer with separate black and separate color cartridges.
Printer Hint #3 - Always buy a wireless printer with an Ethernet port for backup.

This printer will not support WPA2. It may support WPA but that is as far as she goes.
