I could not find a solution in the User Guide or online.
I have unplugged/replugged both power and USB cables multiple times, restarted the computer multiple times, run the diagnostic utility, which comes up positive. Printer cartridges are fine; the unit has been working without incident until about an hour ago.
Any suggestions welcome and appreciated.

As the power & resume lights are flashing together it sounds like a possible carriage stall (see here for details). Is your printer still within warranty?
