HP Officejet 6500A Plus
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer has been my trusty workhorse for many years. It's connected to my laptop which is much newer and runs Windows 10. Recently, when I print an A4 page, the margins have been getting bigger and, I suspect, the size of the print has been getting smaller. I've checked the print settings on the laptop. Yes, definitely set to A4 size paper. I've tried changing the margin settings. Doesn't work. Margins get even bigger. I've tried setting the margins to zero and pressing 'fix'. Doesn't work. Whole document is moved to one end of the page, leaving an empty area at the other. I've tried fiddling with the rulers to change the depth of headers and footers. Nope. Anyone else gor further and better suggestions?

As I understand the Print area getting is smaller than usual,
