Can anyone tell me if there is a way to see if you need a new printhead?

 

All of a sudden my printer will not print in black.  I ran the tests in the tools menu and I get a message saying alignment failed.   I removed the printhead and cleaned it and still get the same error Alignment failed.  I replaced the cartridge and still get the same error.

 

Is there a way to check to see if the printhead needs to be replaced?  Also, is there somewhere I can purchase a new one.  I do not want a refurbished of remanufactured part, as these usully don't work.

When you say you have cleaned the printhead, how did you clean it and what did you use?

How many times you did the alignment?

For Solution 4, Cleaning th printhead, please do it several times because it might be the printhead is badly clogged.

  • If still not working, please check if this is still under warranty and HP can replace and repair it.   If not under warranty and if you need to but a new print head , below is the link.
