HP Envy 4500 AIO Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Previously no problems with printing wirelessly at home for many months.

In last few days printing either i) shows in queue (in 'what's printing' on my PC) and 'printing....' in screen window of printer but nothing prints (it just hangs and the only way to continue is to cancel the print) or ii) the print doesn't even show in the queue. The printer will not now shutdown - again it just hangs in the 'shutting down....' mode

Have tried HP Support Assistant and HP Print & Scan Doctor, but with no success. The latter did online check of set-up, but said everything was OK - now print a test page. Again it showed 'printing..' in screen window of printer but nothing printed. Also have tried other HP Troubleshooting resources, but none seem to cover this particular issue.

Did enter the ip address of the printer in my browser (Chrome), which produced  a screen showing the printer connection to the network was Ok and the status as 'Ready'.

Whilst using the HP Doctor a message did appear 'chrome.exe - application error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application' - not sure if this is relevant

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hi ,

Power Off and On,  your printer and try these two steps .

Set a Static IP -

Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.

Adding a TCP IP Port .

Go to Devices and printers

Right click on the OJ69xx Printer

Go to Printer Properties

Click on Port ( On top)

If port is WSD selected .

Click on Add port

Click on new port type .

Add Port WIzard will Pop up

Put your Printers IP Address ( Static IP Address ) in the box and Click Next and then Click Finish

Apply the settings.

Repost if you have any clarifications
