Replace the cartridges with HP cartridges to see if it resolves your issue. If it does your refills are defective.

Welcome to the HP Forums

I saw your post on refilled ink cartridge won’t work. I am happy to help you with this issue!

We don’t recommend using refilled cartridges on HP printers.

It may damage the printhead and it may void the warranty.

However, you can use it on your own risk.

Cheers.

I've been refilling my own  ink cartridges for 16 years. This new HP printer OFFICEJET PRO6978 that I bought 5 months ago I recently tried to refill. NO GO. Only can use new HP cartridges.  It's the first time in 16 years I could not do so successfully. HP & others are making it impossible to do so. Scum bags. There is nothing wrong with the cartridges despite what they say.

    One thing. If we uninstall & install printer after refilling cartridges ourselves each time would that work?????? I haven't attempted that yet.

Sorry I don't know if that will work or not.  Ink cartridges are so cheap (less then $4 each, last 8 months) I just buy 3rd party with a lifetime warranty, but that is my printer I use.

@evafa
But, we actually CAN’T use them at our own risk. Or, not without an endless barrage of error messages, implemented to deter refilling.
