cannot reset printer HP OFFICEJET 7612

Product Name: Officejet 7612

The unit is caught in a shutdown loop. - Keeps stating inproper shutdown . . . blah, blah, blah, same issue described elsewhere on these boards - with no useful response in the forums.

We buy thousands in HP printers every year and after reading these boards, we likely switching our printer brand.

There is NO WHERE to get reasonble help assistance!

Half the help suggestions don't even refer to the machine in question!

Re: cannot reset printer HP OFFICEJET 7612

Hi @kalli33,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips, Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out Smiley Happy

I understand your HP Officejet 7612 printer is stuck on shutdown loop, don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details,

Have you made any changes on the printer before the issue started?

What happens when you connect the printer in standalone?

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If the issue persists, I would suggest the only option would be to perform a semi-full reset on the printer.

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

Let me know if that helps. Thank you!

Cheers
