 Printer shows   an `error state` and will not print

  I entered  ` Whats printing`   Clicked on a test item.  Nothing happened but showed the word `error`. 

  

  Printer shows wireless connection is `on`

 

   Printer will make copies but will not scan to computor

 

I have new  Windows 10 computor.       Old computor with wndows7 works fine.

 

 Is there a solution or must I dump this otherwise perfectly good product?

 

 I have phoned help line but they say that as the printer is out of guarantee  they will not help unless I pay £34 for a service contract..        I can buy a new printer for that price,  but as many others have this same problem there is no guarantee that this would -work .  So.   Must I leave HP after many years as a customer

Hi alandutc,

What error message are you receiving? 

I have navigated to the troubleshooting page for your printer.  See if you can see the error message you are getting and find the correct document.

 

If not, please give me a few more details and I will try to help.

I am having the same problem.  there is no identifieer onthe error message, simply that it cannot print and that "user intervention is needed, without a clue to what that intervention might be.
