I suddenly have a message on my printer screen: "There is a problem with the print or ink system. Turn printer off, then on (I also unplugged it, but that did not help). If it persist, call HP." This did not work, so the next step was to remove the printerhead, then replace it. I did that not help either. I purchased my printer 3 years ago this month. Is the printerhead worn out? do I need to replace it, or is there another solution.  Thanks much, mgelmer1

Hey, welcome to the HP forums @mgelmer1!

Based on your description, it sounds like you have completed all of the necessary troubleshooting in effort to resolve the 'Problem with printhead' error you're seeing, with no luck.

Replacing the printer may resolve the issue, but it also may not. You can purchase a printhead replacement using the HP Part Surfer, or you can call us.

It's possible phone support may be able to offer you a discount on a newer model so you might be interested in calling to see what options are available. What you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number

Case number and phone number appear.

Best of luck! I this information satisfies your inquiry, please kindly mark your post as solved by clicking the Accept as Solution button below.
