Thank you for joining the HP Forums! 

 

I read your post that you are wondering how to install your HP Laserjet M1136 printer on Windows 8.1. And, I am happy to help! 

 

First, you will want to make sure the hardware has been setup. Setting Up the LaserJet (Hardware)

 

After, the hardware is setup, do not plug in the USB printer cable to the computer yet. Download the full feature software and drivers, by clicking this link. And, wait for the software to tell you to plug in the USB printer cable. This guide, will also help you, and is compatible with Windows 8.1 as well as Windows 10.
